Title : Digital Navigator

Reports To : The Digital Navigator will report to the District Digital Navigator Director

Job Overview : The Digital Navigator provides individualized or small group assistance to “Covered Populations” such as Aging, Incarcerated, Veterans, Disabled, Language Barrier, Racial or Ethnic Minority Group, and Rural who need laptop computers, and/or coaching in introductory digital skills, technology, and capacity needed to reap the full benefits of our digital economy, that will improve their lives.

This assistance is provided primarily by NoW video conference platform but may also include phone calls from the Digital Navigator Portal, email, text, or fax. Special permission from the Digital Navigator Director for In person follow ups for aging, language barriers, or Veterans, at a local community partner location (not to exceed 2 in person).

The Digital Navigator’s work is part of the Essential Digital Opportunity Program to remedy inequities and barriers to inclusion. Essential Families Digital Navigator is a paid 1099 contractor position.

The following documents are required and will need to be uploaded to complete your Digital Navigator registration.

  1. Valid Driver’s license in the State of Missouri or Kansas (front and back)
  2. Profile Photo and Bio
  3. Proof of Education (GED, Highschool diploma, Transcripts, Associates, Bachelors, Masters, PHD)
  4. ACH Form
  5. W-9 Form
  6. Cultural Competency and Diversity Policy
  7. Confidentiality and Digital Navigator Agreement
  8. Agrees to Criminal Background Check

Overview of Digital Navigator Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Information will be provided during the 2-Day Digital Navigator Curriculum Training)

• Attends prep meetings for the Essential Digital Opportunity Program.

• Maintain confidentiality as required by HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and/or as other state or federal law requires.

• Agrees to use Essential Families NoW video platform to conduct Follow Up Sessions with clients.

• Agrees to follow up with 20 individuals and or households for up to 3 months.

• Develops rapport with children, individuals, parents and or guardians.

• Ensures a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participants needs.

• Establishes a professional relationship and climate of mutual trust and respect, ensuring that all services are conducted in a manner which is respectful of the beliefs, practices, history, and culture of program participants and their families.
